
About Carly
Carly was first elected to the Oak Park Heights City Council in 2018. She is currently the City's liaison and Treasurer to the Middle St. Croix Watershed Management Organization and the Parks & Trails Commission. She is also a member of the League of Minnesota Cities' Improving Service Delivery policy committee, which she previously chaired for two years. She previously served on the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources board as the Metro Area Elected Official and on the the National League of Cities' Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee. She worked to establish the City's first Community Garden, improve our parks and trails, create pollinator garden grants, plan community events, improve traffic and road safety, and worked with community partners to make our City more accessible for all.
Carly is an attorney at Maslon LLP. She lives in Oak Park Heights, where she grew-up with her parents, Bill and Beth Johnson, and her younger sister, Paige.
Growing-up she attended Lily Lake Elementary School, Oak-Land Junior High, and Stillwater Area High School. She went on to study Biology and Legal Studies the University of St. Thomas and received her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline College of Law.
Carly ran to give back to her community and to ensure that future generations fall in love with the City in the way she has. Growing-up she loved going to Autumn Hills Park in the summer, and ice skating at Brekke Park with her dad in the winter.
In her free time, Carly enjoys running and rollerblading along the local trails and paths, trying new restaurants, going to farmer's markets, and walking her dog, Kai.
She sets her standards high and will continue to fight for change until the community's vision has been reached. Carly holds public service as the highest ideal for her life and hopes to continue the honor of serving the people of Oak Park Heights.
